ONE MORE WEEK TO REGISTER! PRO-LIFE WISCONSIN HOSTS LOVE FOR LIFE GALA FEATURING BISHOP DONALD HYING
On October 22, 2020, Pro-Life Wisconsin will host it’s 28th annual Love for Life Gala at the Brookfield Conference Center (325 S. Moorland Road, Brookfield). The event will celebrate the life saving work of Pro-Life Wisconsin and double down on efforts to end abortion once and for all.
ONLINE REGISTRATION IS OPEN NOW - OCTOBER 5: www.ProLifeWI.org/gala. Babies in arms, laps, or strollers are welcome and are free. Clergy are also free.
We will welcome special guest and keynote speaker, His Excellency Bishop Donald J. Hying who is known throughout the state and world as a pro-life champion for his unwavering support of all human life. He brings his own profound perspective as he speaks of the sanctity of life, and most especially the preborn.
“I want to focus on this precious miracle as God has created us in his image and likeness,” Bishop Hying said. “If an unborn child could speak, wouldn’t they say, ‘Let me be born. Let me walk, dance, sing and play. Let me love God, know Jesus, pray and make my contribution to the world. Let me fall in love and know truth, beauty and goodness?’ All of life is sacred and that sacredness begins at the moment of conception. What a gift every human being is.”
During the program, Pro-Life Wisconsin will honor State Representative Joe Sanfelippo as Legislator of the Year and Marie Allen of the La Crosse Life League as Activist of the Year. In addition, Steve Karlen, 40 Days for Life Campaign Director, and his wife, Laura Karlen will be honored as our chairpersons for the evening.
For your peace of mind and comfort, we will be using 100% of the very generous space inside the Brookfield Conference Center. To allow for increased distance between attendees, tables will seat six persons, unless you specify otherwise (maximum of 10 per table). Hand sanitizer will be available upon entry and at each
table as well. Register for the event at ProLifeWI.org/gala or call 262.796.1111 ext. 110.
Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. Please join us for an unforgettable evening!

TRUMP PICKS BARRETT: IF ROE GOES, THEN WHAT?
By Personhood Alliance leadership — With President Trump’s nomination of Amy Coney Barrett, the jury is still out on whether she would help overturn Roe v. Wade. But we believe the bigger questions are: What would happen next, and why are we still waiting?
The courts, and particularly the Supreme Court, are supposed to be the least-politicized, least-partisan branch of our civil government. Yet that is no longer the case. The death of Ruth Bader Ginsberg and President Trump’s duty to appoint a replacement, at the end of his term in the midst of a deeply divided culture, is demonstrating just how politicized and partisan the Supreme Court and the nominating process have become. Our vacant Supreme Court seat has become the issue. All because of abortion. With President Trump’s
nomination of Amy Coney Barrett, battle lines are being drawn. But the jury is still out on whether Amy Coney Barrett would vote to overturn the unjust decision of Roe v. Wade. Former Personhood Alliance president, Gualberto Garcia Jones, explains:
“As a self-described originalist and a student of the late Antonin Scalia, it remains to be seen whether Amy Coney Barret will follow Scalia’s legal positivism or Justice Thomas’ fundamental understanding of the law as inclusive and governed by higher principles, such as our inalienable rights enshrined in the Declaration of Independence. While legal
positivists would look no further than the written man-made law in considering a challenge to Roe, an originalist with an understanding of inalienable rights would subject man-made law to a higher fundamental standard—our paramount right to life.”
In her now famous Notre Dame law review article, Amy Coney Barrett made clear that Roe v. Wade, unlike Brown v. Board of Education, is not a super precedent and therefore, could be overturned. Beyond her writings and her judicial record, Amy Coney Barret is clearly an example of how a woman in America can be open to life and motherhood while achieving the highest levels of professional success. This infuriates the radical feminist Left. Continue reading...

On March 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was signed into law. The CARES Act increases tax deductions for charitable donations for both individuals and corporations for tax year 2020. You may wish to consider the following provisions when determining your charitable giving this year:
Individuals who do not itemize their tax deductions may take a new "above the line" charitable deduction of $300 per taxpayer ($600 for a married couple). An "above the line" deduction reduces a donor's adjusted
gross income and thereby reduces taxable income.
Individuals who do itemize may deduct donations up to 100% of their 2020 AGI, up from the previous limit of 60%.
Corporations may deduct up to 25% of taxable income, up from the previous limit of 10%.
To qualify for these special deductions, contributions must be made during tax year 2020. Payments on outstanding pledges also qualify, provided the payment is made in 2020.
