WISCONSIN SENATE PASSES BILL
PROHIBITING VACCINE DISCRIMINATION
On Tuesday, March 8, the Wisconsin Senate passed legislation by voice vote prohibiting the state and any governmental entity from discriminating against any person based on whether the person has received a vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes COVID-19, or is able to show proof of having received such a vaccine. Pro-Life Wisconsin thanks the Wisconsin Senate for passing Assembly Bill 316, authored by Rep. Scott Krug (R-Nekoosa) and Sen. Rob Stafsholt (R-New Richmond). Having already passed the Wisconsin
Assembly on January 25, AB 316 now moves to Governor Evers’ desk.
The Personhood Alliance/Pro-Life Wisconsin vaccine ethics position 1) opposes the production and testing of vaccines using the remains of aborted human beings, and 2) opposes forced or coerced vaccination.
Assembly Bill 316 reinforces our vaccine ethics position. For the many Wisconsinites who earnestly avoid any entanglement in the abortion industry, discriminating against them for refusing a vaccine produced from or tested using aborted fetal cells is repugnant – a total violation of conscience. Many pro-life Wisconsinites reject the use of the Pfizer, Moderna, and Janssen/Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines and vehemently oppose any discriminatory coercion of their use.
Persuasion is the way vaccine campaigns must be conducted, especially in America where our civil liberties are sacrosanct…where personal autonomy and informed consent are bedrock principles. Coercion severely undermines the public trust
and tramples on our cherished rights, including our First Amendment right to freely exercise our religious beliefs, our Fourteenth Amendment guarantees of liberty, equal protection, and due process of law, and our Article 1, Section 18 Wisconsin constitutional guarantee of freedom of worship and liberty of conscience.
Assembly Bill 316 protects our right to make our own health decisions and our right to follow our consciences.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE
Help save lives by praying to end abortion in your community during the 40 Days for Life Spring Campaign March 2 - April 10, 2022. Since the founding in 2007, 40 Days for Life campaigns have saved 20,728 babies that we know of through prayer, fasting, a peaceful vigil outside of local abortion facilities. Commit to a prayer time with friends, family, or call us if you'd like a member of our Pro-Life Wisconsin staff to join you! If you or your campaign is in need of signs, we can ship you one or as many as you need. Please go to a campaign near you and get involved. View Wisconsin locations here.
40 Clergy, 40 Days: In past years, the presence of clergy has proven a very powerful witness and has influenced many women to choose life outside of abortion facilities! Our goal is to have one priest, deacon, or religious praying every day of the campaign for one hour. If you are a clergy member and would like to commit to one hour of prayer outside the local abortion facility, please sign up here. If you would like a member of our Pro-Life Wisconsin staff to join you on the sidewalks, let us know! Call 262.796.1111 ext. 110 or email info@prolifewi.org.

RUSSIAN OIL BAN HAS LANGUAGE THAT COULD BE TURNED AGAINST PRO-LIFE, PRO-FAMILY COUNTRIES, CONGRESSMAN WARNS: (LifeSiteNews) – “Republican Rep. Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin was one of just 17 members of the U.S. House of
Representatives to vote against banning Russian energy imports Wednesday, but says he did so due to language in the legislation that could be turned against pro-lifers around the world.” Read the full story here.
TEXAS SUPREME COURT RULES AGAINST PROVIDERS IN CHALLENGE TO SIX-WEEK ABORTION BAN: (Austin American-Statesman) – “The Texas Supreme Court on Friday said state licensing officials are not responsible for enforcing the state's near total ban on abortion, effectively ending a legal challenge to the law brought by abortion providers across the state.” Read the full story here.
HOUSE ADVANCES ABORTION BILL AFTER LONGEST DEBATE IN COLORADO HISTORY: (Denver-KDVR) – “After a nearly 24-hour debate between Democrats and Republicans over a highly disputed abortion bill, the Reproductive Health Equity
Act advanced Saturday morning. HB22-1279 is a health care act sponsored by Rep. Meg Froelich, Rep. Daneya Esgar and Rep. Julie Gonzales. The debate on the act began at 10:53 a.m. Friday and lasted until it passed on a preliminary voice vote at 10:18 a.m. Saturday morning. Sitting at almost a full day length, this debate was the longest in the House’s history […] According to the sponsors, “The bill, declares that every individual has a fundamental right to use or refuse contraception; every pregnant individual has a fundamental right to continue the pregnancy and give birth or to have an abortion; and a fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus does not have independent or derivative rights under the laws of the state.” Read the full story here.
PLW NOTE: HB22-1279 is an “anti-personhood” bill, not just creating a fundamental right to abortion for the mother, but stripping away any and all legal rights from her preborn child from conception, thus rendering him or her
a non-person under Colorado state law. Under the law, you’re either a person or your property – there is no in between. We pray that this heinous bill is not enacted into law.
