STATEWIDE CAMPAIGN: THE PILL KILLS

Tuesday, June 7, 2022, marked 57 years since the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Griswold v. Connecticut, which legalized contraception and established a so-called “right to privacy" that paved the way for the Roe v. Wade ruling in 1973.

Pro-Life Wisconsinites in Mauston and Milwaukee gathered for the annual Pill Kills campaign to raise awareness of the harms of the birth control pill and advance the message that preborn human life deserves protection even at its earliest stages.

Pro-Life Wisconsin opposes all forms of artificial contraception as the contraceptive mentality views pregnancy as a "disease" state against which women must be "protected" at all costs, even at the cost of their own health and the lives of their preborn babies. LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER FOR THE FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND RIDE FOR LIFE

Join Pro-Life Wisconsin for the first-ever Father's Day Weekend Ride for Life on Saturday, June 18, 2022! The day will begin at 8:00 a.m. with Holy Mass at St. Jerome Catholic Church (995 S Silver Lake St, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) followed by a blessing of the bikes immediately after Mass. The ride will commence with the following stops:

Affiliated Medical Services abortion center(1428 N Farwell Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53202). Here we will pray the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary.
Planned Parenthood abortion center (435 S Water St, Milwaukee, WI 53204). Here we will pray the Joyful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary.
Planned Parenthood (2207 W Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53233). Here we will pray the Glorious Mysteries of the Holy Rosary.
Planned Parenthood (2239 S 108th St, West Allis, WI 53227). Here we will pray the Luminous Mysteries of the Holy Rosary.
Planned Parenthood (426 W Main St, Waukesha, WI 53186). Here we will pray the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary.

The ride should take about 3.5 hours. All profits will be distributed equally between the Women’s Support Center, Life’s Connection, and Pro-Life Wisconsin’s Helping Both pregnancy support program. More information and registration details are available here.

WE'RE HIRING: DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

The Development Director at Pro-Life Wisconsin (PLW) performs all the tasks necessary to grow PLW's Revenue, particularly through major gift fundraising. Secondarily, the Development Director coordinates with the Outreach Director to grow the number of PLW Affiliates and donor/supporter base. This includes the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the effectiveness of plans and activities toward these two ends.

Requirements
Beyond being 100% Pro-Life, Christian, and a good team player, the individual is expected to be self-motivated with the ability to identify significant contributors to PLW and exert the initiative to accomplish it within the time frame expected. Specifically, the individual must possess the following:

Committed Christian whose life is conducted in accord with Christian principles
Thorough understanding and shared belief in the 100% pro-life position
Bachelor's Degree in related field
3-5 years of various fundraising experience
3-5 years of sales, promotion, marketing, and/or public relations experience
Ability to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward leadership level gifts
Self-starter, with strong planning and organizational skills, who can work independently and take ownership for this activity, yet be able to take some specific direction from PLW leadership
Excellent customer service skills; ability to super-serve our benefactors' needs
Knowledge or involvement in Catholic/Christian fraternal organizations
Solid interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (verbal and written)
Capable of grant request/proposal preparation
Basic computer skills
Ability to work well in a collaborative culture
Ability and willingness to travel (possess a valid driver's license)

Responsibilities
Specifically, Development Director is responsible for executing the following tasks in an effective and efficient manner:

1. Develop an annual strategic plan for all Revenue Generation activities with specific revenue targets for:

Existing Revenue Sources (Fundraising Letters, Banquet & Web Site Sponsorship)
Grant Proposals
Major Gifts from Benefactors
New Funding Sources

2. Implement and execute strategies to achieve the Plan's Revenue targets for all the Revenue Generating Activities including overseeing the Fall Banquet/Auction

3. Build significant long-term relationships with benefactors to encourage, support, and sustain the benefactor's philanthropic relationship with Pro-Life Wisconsin

CALIFORNIA AMENDMENT WOULD MAKE ABORTION A CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT IN THE STATE: (Live Action News) – “California lawmakers have just announced that they are introducing a constitutional amendment to enshrine the right to abortion and contraception into the state constitution. SCA 10 was introduced into the State Senate by Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego), along with Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) and their colleagues, in partnership with Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California and NARAL Pro-Choice California. According to the bill’s text, the constitutional amendment would ‘prohibit the state from denying or interfering with an individual’s reproductive freedom in their most intimate decisions, which includes their fundamental right to choose to have an abortion.’” Read the full story here.

MARCO RUBIO SLAMS MERRICK GARLAND FOR NOT INVESTIGATING VIOLENCE AGAINST PRO-LIFE GROUPS: (LifeNews.com) – “Attorney General Merrick Garland faced more criticism Friday for not doing enough to protect U.S. Supreme Court justices and pro-life advocates from growing threats of violence by radical abortion activists. In a letter, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, asked Garland how his agency is responding to the escalating violence, especially after authorities reported an assassination attempt on Justice Brett Kavanaugh near his home this week.” Read the full story here.

JUNE 4: Pill Kills; Griswold v. Connecticut Vigil. Fifty-seven years ago, the Griswold v. Connecticut U.S. Supreme Court ruling (June 7, 1965) legalized contraception and established “privacy rights” that paved the way for the Roe v. Wade ruling a few years later. The purpose of our annual campaign on June 4, is to draw attention to the dangers of the birth control pill and the fact that it does indeed cause early chemical abortions. JUNE 18: Join Pro-Life Wisconsin for the first-ever Father's Day Weekend Ride for Life! The ride will begin following the 8:00 a.m. Holy Mass at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church (1702 N Humboldt Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53202). Various stops will be made at local abortion facilities to pray the Rosary until the ride concludes at Maxim's Restaurant (18025 W Capitol Dr, Brookfield, WI 53045). JULY 23 – Join the Knights of Columbus Unity Council #12743 from St. Lawrence & Resurrection Parishes for the annual “Drive for the Unborn" golf outing at Scenic View Country Club (4415 Club Drive, Slinger, WI 53086). The cost is $80 per person, and the format is a 4-person team scramble with a shotgun start at 8:00 am (check-in by 7:30 am). Funds are donated to the Seed of Hope Center in West Bend, the Women’s Support Center of Milwaukee, several local K-C Ultrasound initiatives, projects sponsored or promoted by Pro-Life Wisconsin, and other similar Culture of Life causes and organizations in southeast Wisconsin.
