PRO-LIFE NEWS

OBGYN REFUTES CLAIM THAT LATE-TERM ABORTIONS ARE NECESSARY TO SAVE A MOTHER’S LIFE: “CATEGORICALLY UNTRUE”: (LifeNews.com) –A California OB-GYN who used to abort unborn babies said the claim that late-term abortions are sometimes necessary to save a mother’s life is ‘categorically untrue.’ Speaking with Faithwire this week, Dr. Vansen Wong explained that killing a viable, late-term unborn baby is never necessary. In emergency situations like preeclampsia, doctors will perform a C-section right away to remove the baby and treat the mother, he said. A late-term abortion typically takes two to three days. ‘The quick answer is: it’s categorically untrue and it is illogical to say that,’ Wong told Faithwire. ‘After viability, so after 22 weeks, a baby could survive.’” Read the full story here.

AS IN KANSAS, OUT-OF-STATE BILLIONAIRES POUR MONEY TOWARD MICHIGAN ABORTION AMENDMENT: (Live Action) – “The Proposition 3 campaign, which would make abortion a right within the Michigan constitution, has racked up an astounding amount of support, including tens of millions of dollars in donations. But, as was the case in Kansas in recent months, out-of-state pro-abortion activists have flooded Michigan with money to ensure abortion remains widely available. Bridge Michigan reported that Reproductive Freedom for All, the coalition backing Proposition 3, has raised $40.2 million so far. Citizens to Support MI Women and Children, which opposes Proposition 3, has raised just $16.9 million. However, Reproductive Freedom for All is receiving its money from interesting places.” Read the full story here.

TRAHAN, CAREY, PORTER, STEWART UNVEIL BIPARTISAN LEGISLATION TO STOP ONLINE SUICIDE ASSISTANCE FORUMS: (Press Release, U.S. Rep. Lori Trahan) – “On Monday, Representatives Lori Trahan (D-MA-03), Mike Carey (R-OH-15), Katie Porter (D-CA-45), and Chris Stewart (R-UT-02) introduced the Stop Online Suicide Assistance Forums Act, bipartisan legislation that will make it a felony offense for anyone who uses mail or interstate communications such as online forums to assist in another person’s attempt to die by suicide. The new legislation would give the U.S. Department of Justice additional authority to pursue cases against suicide assistance forums, including a popular site recently covered by a New York Times investigation.” Read the full story here.
