WELCOME CELIA BARRETT, OUTREACH
DIRECTOR
We are elated to welcome Celia Barrett to the Pro-Life Wisconsin team!
Born in Boston, Celia moved to Wisconsin at a young age and has loved living here ever since. She was homeschooled through high school and attended college locally. In 2021, Celia graduated with a degree in Marketing. She began her career coordinating training events for a global corporation. While she enjoyed her time in the corporate world,
she desired a position with deeper meaning. The Pro-Life Wisconsin Outreach Director opening was an answer to prayer! She is grateful for her faith, family, and friends and is excited to serve the mission of Pro-Life Wisconsin. Celia plans to devote her efforts to ensure every person knows that they are treasured by God and that every life is worth living! Welcome, Celia! (262-796-1111 ext. 114 | Celia.B@ProLifeWI.org)

VATICAN REMOVES ANTI-ABORTION ACTIVIST FROM THE PRIESTHOOD: (The New York Times) – “A well-known Catholic priest and incendiary leader of the anti-abortion movement was removed from the priesthood by the Vatican, according to a letter from Pope Francis’ representative to the United States that was obtained by The New York Times. Frank Pavone, who leads the advocacy organization Priests for Life, and was once a religious adviser to former President Donald J. Trump, was dismissed from the clergy on Nov. 9 with no possibility of appeal, the letter states. The letter included a statement
about the removal, called laicization, that it said was approved by the Dicastery for the Clergy, a Vatican office.” Read the full story here.
‘DUMBEST LEGAL THEORY’: PRO-LIFE ATTORNEY BLASTS ARGUMENTS THAT ‘RELIGIOUS FREEDOM’ PROTECTS ABORTION: (LifeSiteNews) – “A recent ruling blocking the implementation of a new restrictive abortion law in Indiana is
‘insane’ and based on ‘cockamamie legal theories’ according to pro-life attorney Peter Breen of the Thomas More Society (TMS). […] ‘You can’t argue that child sacrifice is part of your religion and claim for an exemption,’ he said. ‘Whether you analyze the substantial burden factor under the religious freedom right, or you analyze the compelling interest [of the state], both come to the inescapable conclusion that you cannot challenge a law preventing the murdering of little children on a so-called religious basis.’” Read the full story here.
CHRISTIAN DOCTORS SUE NEW MEXICO OVER FORCED PARTICIPATION IN ASSISTED SUICIDE: (Live Action/ by Alliance Defending
Freedom) – “Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys representing a Christian doctor and the Christian Medical & Dental Associations sued the state of New Mexico Wednesday for enacting a law that requires doctors to facilitate physician assisted suicide in ways that violate their religious convictions and professional ethics. The federal lawsuit explains that, despite historic condemnations of assisted suicide, New Mexico enacted the Elizabeth Whitefield End-of-Life Options Act in 2021. The law requires physicians who are conscientious objectors to facilitate suicide by informing patients about assisted suicide and referring patients to physicians and organizations who will participate in ending their lives. If physicians decline to participate based on their religious beliefs or professional ethics, they can face substantial criminal, civil, administrative, and professional liability, including risking losing their medical licenses.” Read the full story here.
