EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING FOR STATE SUPREME COURT ELECTION BEGINS TOMORROW
PREBORN LIVES HANG IN THE BALANCE

Former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Daniel Kelly and Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Janet Protasiewicz are facing off in the general election for state supreme court on Tuesday, April 4. The Pro-Life Wisconsin Victory Fund Political Action Committee (PAC) is urging pro-life, pro-family, pro-rule of law citizens across Wisconsin to vote for Daniel Kelly for Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Early in-person absentee voting begins tomorrow Tuesday, March 21, and runs through Saturday, April 1. In-person absentee voting locations and hours vary by municipality. Learn more about where you should vote, who else is on your local ballot, and for information on voting absentee (in-person or by mail) if you cannot vote on Election Day here.

It is imperative that Wisconsinites elect a justice who will serve fairly and impartially, respecting and upholding the rule of law. That justice is Daniel Kelly. The same cannot be said for Janet Protasiewicz who has consistently and brazenly pronounced her public policy preferences on matters likely to come before the high court, including abortion and redistricting. Her public support for ‘abortion rights’ is a clear indication that her thumb will be on the scales of justice when it comes to adjudicating our current abortion ban. Janet Protasiewicz will legislate from the bench!

Wisconsin’s current law abortion ban, s.940.04, is being challenged in our state court system by pro-abortion Democrat Attorney General Josh Kaul. If we lose our tenuous 4-3 conservative majority on the state supreme court, a new liberal, activist court will likely rule s.940.04 unenforceable, restoring abortion on demand in Wisconsin. Even worse, a liberal supreme court could find a right to abortion in our state constitution, thus overturning all our pro-life laws. We cannot let this happen! We cannot let Janet Protasiewicz return abortion on demand to Wisconsin.

Justice Kelly is the only candidate in this race with a proven record of judicial conservatism, and therefore the only candidate we trust to uphold the rule of law. His belief in the dignity of the human person makes him the only choice for pro-life voters. We are extremely proud to endorse him.

The PLW Victory Fund PAC is urging pro-life, pro-family, pro-rule of law citizens across Wisconsin to vote In-Person Absentee, Absentee by Mail, or on Election Day Tuesday, April 4, for Daniel Kelly for Wisconsin Supreme Court. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for this nonpartisan race. Learn more about where you should vote, who else is on your local ballot, and for information on voting absentee (by mail or in-person) if you cannot vote on Election Day here.
PRO-LIFE WISCONSIN STRONGLY OPPOSES LEGISLATION WEAKENING STATE ABORTION BAN
Call or Email your State Legislators NOW!

On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, State Senator Mary Felzkowski (R-Irma) and State Representative Donna Rozar (R-Marshfield) circulated for co-sponsorship companion legislation (LRB 2151/LRB 2432) that would severely weaken Wisconsin’s current law abortion ban, s. 940.04, by adding exceptions for abortion in the cases of sexual assault, incest, life and health of the mother, and lethal fetal anomaly.

It is incredibly disheartening that legislative Republicans are working to restore abortion to Wisconsin. The co-authors of this egregious legislation include Senators Rachael Cabral-Guevara (R-Appleton) and Jesse James (R-Altoona), and Representatives Amy Binsfeld (R-Sheboygan), Cindi Duchow (Town of Delafield), Dan Knodl (R-Germantown), Jessie Rodriguez (R-Oak Creek), Angie Sapik (R-Lake Nebagamon), Ellen Schutt (R-Clinton), and Robin Vos (R-Rochester).

Fortunately, Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu (R-Oostburg) slammed the door shut on LRB 2151/LRB 2432 within several hours of its announcement, publicly stating that “(t)he bill will not be considered on the floor of the Senate.” We expect Assembly Speaker Robin Vos to continue pushing the legislation in the Wisconsin Assembly.

A vote to add more exceptions to Wisconsin’s abortion ban is a vote to kill more preborn babies. It is that simple. The fact is that legal abortion – the direct, intentional killing of a living preborn human being – is incapable of being justified. It is always and everywhere wrong, regardless of motivation or consequence.

  • Rape and incest are both criminal acts, and in our system of justice, we punish the criminal. We do not punish the victim, nor do we punish the criminal's children. Abortion in the case of rape and incest serves only to cover the crimes of the perpetrator, facilitating sexual abuse and the sex trafficking industry. Women deserve better than abortion and all of the physical, emotional, and psychological difficulties that are proven to follow.
  • Concerning abortion in the case of lethal fetal anomaly, numerous women have brought their babies to term and cherished the brief but precious moments of their child’s life. These cases are heartbreaking. Yet when a mother is able to hold, name, and love her newborn baby, she often experiences bittersweet joy and immense healing. These babies are worthy of our love and protection.
  • Abortion, the intentional killing of a preborn baby, is never medically necessary to save the life or improve the health of the mother, as outlined by medical experts from the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG). Medical operations such as the removal of an ectopic pregnancy, an anembryonic pregnancy, or a molar pregnancy are moral. Legally, such operations are not considered abortions because they are not intentional killing of a living preborn human being. The removal of such conditions has never been prosecuted in this country. There is, therefore, no need to provide a specific exception for such cases in laws prohibiting abortion.

If one wishes to address the mother’s life in pro-life legislation, there is a moral and effective way to do so. Pro-Life Wisconsin would like to replace the broad and undefined life-of-the-mother exception in s.940.04 with language requiring equal care for both mom and baby, granting the physician immunity if he or she follows the requirement.

With your help, Pro-Life Wisconsin will fight to defeat
LRB 2151/LRB 2432.
  • Please CALL or EMAIL your state senator and state representative TODAY and urge them to “Oppose LRB 2151 & LRB 2432.”
  • Tell them, “A vote to add more exceptions to Wisconsin’s abortion ban is a vote to kill more preborn babies. Abortion does not heal trauma. Abortion is not healthcare.
  • Don’t know your state senator or state representative? Go to legis.wisconsin.gov  and type in your home address under “Who Are My Legislators” or call the Legislative Hotline: 1-800-362-9472.

Thank you and God bless you. Please make your pro-life voices heard in the Wisconsin Legislature!

40 DAYS FOR LIFE SPRING CAMPAIGN
NOW - APRIL 2!

Since their founding in 2007, 40 Days for Life campaigns have saved 22,829 babies through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil outside of local abortion facilities. While abortion is illegal here in Wisconsin, abortion-bound women continue to visit local Planned Parenthood facilities and community "health" centers to obtain contraception and information on the procurement of abortion. Our work is not done!

We invite you to commit to prayer time on the sidewalks outside these facilities during this Spring campaign, February 22-April 2. Bring your friends and family, or call us if you'd like a member of our Pro-Life Wisconsin staff to join you. If you or your campaign is in need of signs, we can ship you one or as many as you need.
Please go to a campaign near you and get involved. Current cities include Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, Sheboygan, and Waukesha.
40 Clergy, 40 Days: In past years, the presence of clergy has proven a very powerful witness and has influenced many women to choose life outside of abortion facilities! Our goal is to have one priest, deacon, or religious praying every day of the campaign for one hour. Sign up online here. If you are a clergy member and would like to commit to one hour of prayer outside these facilities, email our Outreach Director at Celia.B@ProLifeWI.org or call 262.796.1111 ext. 114.

PRO-LIFE NEWS

REPUBLICANS ANNOUNCE ABORTION BILL ALLOWING EXCEPTIONS FOR RAPE AND INCEST. HERE'S WHY THE BILL WON'T BECOME LAW: (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) – “A group of Republican lawmakers released legislation Wednesday that would allow doctors to provide abortions to victims of rape and incest and in situations when the mother is experiencing serious pregnancy complications - a proposal that was immediately rejected by the state Senate's top Republican and Democratic Gov. Tony Evers. […] Matt Sande, Pro-Life Wisconsin Legislative Director, said any legislation that allows abortions ‘is incapable of being justified. A vote to add more exceptions to Wisconsin’s abortion ban is a vote to kill more preborn babies. It is that simple. It is always and everywhere wrong, regardless of motivation or consequence. It may never be employed, even in the narrowest of circumstances, as a means to a greater end." Read the full story here.

LIBERAL WISCONSIN REPUBLICANS PUSH TO ADD RAPE, INCEST EXCEPTIONS TO 1849 ABORTION BAN: (LifeSiteNews) – “Pro-lifers in the Dairy State are sounding the alarm on an effort by a handful of moderate Republicans to weaken Wisconsin’s abortion ban, which currently provides comprehensive protection to the preborn unless touched by lawmakers or invalidated by the state’s highest court. […] “Further discussion on this specific proposal is unnecessary,’ Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu said in a statement. ‘The bill will not be considered on the floor of the Senate.’ LeMahieu has said he would be open to clarifying the 1849 law’s language regarding medical complications, and noted that Democrat Gov. Tony Evers has vowed to veto any abortion legislation that does not restore the Roe status quo.” Read the full story here.

WHY IS THE CDC STILL PROMOTING COVID VACCINES FOR PREGNANT WOMEN?: (Personhood Alliance, by Dr. Matthew Clark) – “The US Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) position that the COVID vaccine is safe for women of reproductive age is rapidly becoming untenable. […] As we survey some of the available literature on Covid vaccines as of March 2023, we wonder why this jab is still being recommended for use in pregnant women, given that none of these injections in use have ever been appropriately tested in pregnant women, and given that recent data shows very strong signals that these injections are likely causing pregnancy losses, killing unborn babies.” Read the full op-ed here.

WYOMING BECOMES FIRST STATE TO PROHIBIT USE OF ABORTION PILL: (Live Action) – “Wyoming has become the first state to prohibit the use of the abortion pill. Gov. Mark Gordon signed the law on Friday, the same day he said he would allow another pro-life law to take effect without his signature. That law would protect nearly all preborn humans in Wyoming from abortion. It also bans the use of the abortion pill. Both laws are expected to be challenged in court.” Read the full story here.
