MOMENTOUS MARCH FOR LIFE WISCONSIN
|
|
|
|
Pro-Life Wisconsinites were out in full force on Saturday, June 24, to say no to abortion and yes to equal protection for all preborn children. Our speakers invigorated the crowd to press onward the final victory!
Jim Ball, leader of 40 Days for Life Green Bay, kicked off the rally in bold fashion, proclaiming, “Roe is dead! It took 49 years to overturn Roe. We will not wait another 49 years for our next huge pro-life victory!”
Dr. Robin Goldsmith, President, and Chief Medical Officer of the St. Gianna Clinic, gave a compassionate reflection on saving lives and protecting women. “God has given us, through science and medicine, a powerful life-saving way – the
abortion pill reversal.” After explaining how the abortion pill reversal regimen works, she begged the crowd, “I plead with you today to help bring this message to as many as possible.”
Dr. Daniel Reehoff, Pastor of DaySpring Baptist Church, spoke about how we minister to post-abortive and abortion-minded women and men. He outlined in detail three ways to help our local communities, “Support the pro-life cause financially, pray, and show love!”
State Representative Joy Goeben (R-Hobart) spoke from the heart saying, “The right to life speaks to the very core of our humanity and the principles upon which our nation was founded. Every unborn child carries the promise of a future, a future that should not be extinguished at the whim of another.”
Bishop Donald Hying of the Diocese of Madison recounted his early days in the pro-life movement ministering to women exiting abortion
centers, and he announced the truth to all present that “every single human life is sacred, made in the image and likeness of God, to be respected, to be nurtured, and loved. We are not the arbiters of life or death.”
Our final speaker, Dr. Pat Castle, Founder of Life Runners, brought the energy and gave a rousing speech proclaiming “Roe v. Wade is gone! We celebrate the 25,000 lives that were born this year because of the Dobbs decision, but one abortion is an infinite number too many. We will not rest until all children are protected from abortion!”
Our work continues! Thank you to everyone who joined us and braved the heat and protests to stand up for the right to life! In the words of Dr. Pat Castle to all those protestors present, “We pray for them to be free from the power and principalities of evil.” May God bless you and your families!
Thank you to our sponsors!

STATE ASSEMBLY PASSES BILL ALLOWING PHARMACISTS TO PRESCRIBE CONTRACEPTIVES
On an 82-11 bipartisan vote, the Wisconsin Assembly passed Assembly Bill (AB) 176 last Wednesday, legislation introduced by over 35 Republican state legislators in a misguided attempt to reduce unplanned pregnancies. The bill, authored by State Representatives Joel Kitchens (R-Sturgeon Bay) and Gae Magnafici (R-Dresser), permits pharmacists to
prescribe hormonal contraceptive patches (the Patch) and self-administered oral hormonal contraceptives (the Pill) to persons 18 years of age and older. Currently, the Pill and the Patch may only be prescribed by a physician or a qualified nurse practitioner. Assembly Bill 176 now moves to the Wisconsin Senate. Pro-Life Wisconsin commends the11 Republican state representatives who courageously voted NO on AB 176: Scott Allen (R-Waukesha); Elijah Behnke (R-Oconto); Ty
Bodden (R-Hilbert); Janel Brandtjen (R-Menomonee Falls); Joy Goeben (R-Hobart); Rick Gundrum (R-Slinger); David Murphy (R-Greenville); Peter Schmidt (R-Bonduel); Michael Schraa (R-Oshkosh); Shae Sortwell (R-Two Rivers); and Chuck Wichgers (R-Muskego). If one of these pro-life heroes is your state representative, please call him or her and express your thanks. We especially thank Representative Wichgers for leading the fight against AB 176. Pro-Life Wisconsin (PLW) OPPOSES any legislation that makes hormonal contraceptives more easily accessible or widely available. On June 6, PLW Legislative Director Matt Sande testified before the Assembly Committee on Health, Aging and
Long-Term Care in opposition to AB 176. Three other statewide pro-life organizations also testified against AB 176: Wisconsin Family Action, the Wisconsin Catholic Conference, and the Wisconsin Catholic Medical Guilds. Assembly Bill 176 is bad legislation for multiple reasons:- It ends the patient-physician relationship. According to the Wisconsin Catholic Medical Guilds, “Primary care physicians have a unique
relationship with their patients in which they can provide individualized counseling and recommendations, as well as discuss risks of prescription medications unique to each individual patient. This relationship and individualized care will be eliminated if this bill moves forward." AB 176 is bad medicine.
- After the extended Covid-19 healthcare disruption, denying thousands of patients access to routine checkups, it is now more important than ever to encourage women to reengage with their primary care and OB/GYN physicians. AB 176 encourages the opposite.
- Attempting to lower unplanned pregnancies by making contraceptives more easily accessible simply doesn’t work. A significant percentage of unintended pregnancies are in women using contraceptives,
generally over 40% and in some studies up to 68%.
- Hormonal contraceptives can cause pre-implantation chemical abortions by altering the lining of the uterus (endometrium) so that a newly conceived child (human embryo) is unable to implant in the womb, thus starving and dying.
- Hormonal contraceptives have been proven dangerous to women’s health. The Pill is a known Group 1 carcinogen for breast, cervical, and liver cancers according to the UN’s International Agency on Research of Cancer. It is not the proper role of pharmacists to diagnose health conditions and prescribe powerful medications with clear health risks.
With your help, Pro-Life Wisconsin will continue to lead the fight against AB 176 and its companion bill, Senate Bill (SB) 211, in the Wisconsin Senate.
Please CALL or EMAIL your state senator TODAY and urge him/her to “Oppose AB 176 & SB 211.”
- Tell them, “Hormonal contraceptives can kill embryonic children, are dangerous to women’s health, and do not reduce unplanned pregnancies!”
- Tell them, “AB 176/SB 211 eliminates the patient-physician relationship. It is bad medicine!”
Don’t know your State Senator? Go to legis.wisconsin.gov and type in your home address under “Who Are My Legislators” or call the Legislative Hotline: 1-800-362-9472.
We thank all of you who made calls to your state representatives, urging them to oppose this ineffective and dangerous legislation. God bless you, and please continue making your pro-life voices heard in the Wisconsin Senate!

BILLBOARDS ON THE BORDERS: COMPASSIONATELY PROTECTING LIFE
Thanks to a tremendously generous donor, Pro-Life Wisconsin is covering the Wisconsin borders and major cities with the pro-life message all summer long! The intent of this campaign is to reach abortion-bound women leaving Wisconsin to obtain an abortion with the pro-life message of compassion, care, and abundant help.
Many women seeking an abortion are desperately hoping for a sign to keep their baby and reject the coercive pressure of family, friends, or their partner. “We know from working with women and men in their struggle to choose life for their child, many are making deals with God,” said Dan Miller, State Director of Pro-Life Wisconsin. “Some simply ask God to show them a sign to not have the abortion. We decided to give them
a really big sign!" Pro-Life Wisconsin’s billboards will be that beacon of hope for women, offering them real help in their time of need.
Coming home to Wisconsin from out of state, women will also be met with Pro-Life Wisconsin billboards offering post-abortive healing help and Abortion Pill Reversal information should they regret their abortion and seek to save their baby. Dan Miller, State Director of Pro-Life Wisconsin commented, "If they are having second thoughts about their abortion, help and hope is available. There is a group of medical doctors trained in safe protocol to reverse the effects of the first pill in the chemical abortion regimen. The first 24 hours are critical, so a billboard on the way back from the neighboring state is the best way to reach these women in time.” No woman should feel as though they are alone or abandoned. Visit ProLifeWI.org/help for a glimpse of the tender care these women are met with!
If you’d like to financially support this campaign and extend the life of these billboards, please give to the True to Life Media Campaign fund here today.

LIVE ACTION’S LILA ROSE AT LINCOLN MEMORIAL: ‘RIGHT NOW… ABORTION IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL’ : (Live Action) – “On June 24, the one-year anniversary of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Live Action’s Founder and President, Lila Rose, addressed the crowd gathered at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., for National Celebrate Life Day. ‘America is like a beautiful song,’ Rose began. ‘Our song has dynamics – highs and lows. It has the highs of our founding promise of all of us being created equal under the law with the inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. But our song, our American song, also has tragic lows.’ Rose noted the Supreme Court’s infamous decision in Dred Scott v. Sandford, which denied citizenship to the enslaved, as one of America’s lows. That decision served to bring the nation one step closer to the Civil War and was overturned by the 13th and
14th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. ‘The 14th Amendment is one of the most beautiful notes in our national song,’ Rose continued, quoting the text of the Amendment, which extends the right of equal protection of the law to all persons living within the United States. Rose noted that preborn persons are entitled to these same rights, though they are currently being denied such protection on the federal level. ‘We demand equal protection for preborn children,’ Rose declared.” Read the full story here.
PENCE CALLS FOR HIS 2024 RIVALS TO BACK A 15-WEEK FEDERAL ABORTION BAN ON EVE OF DOBBS ANNIVERSARY: (Associated Press) – “Former Vice President Mike Pence used a Friday gathering
of some of the nation’s leading Christian conservatives to urge his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination to support a 15-week federal abortion ban at minimum. The exhortation at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s annual conference, coming a day before the first anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, amounted to a challenge for the GOP front-runner, Donald Trump, who has been reluctant to endorse a federal abortion ban.” Read the full story here.
