Thanks to a generous donor and your prayers, Pro-Life Wisconsin's Summer Billboard Campaign was a success. Last week we received an email from a Madison-area Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) with exciting news - a mother had chosen life after seeing one of our billboards!

Here is an except from that email:

We (the PRC staff) met with a patient yesterday who was preparing for an abortion but saw your billboard in WI on the way to IL saying "this is your sign, don't have the abortion" and it stuck with her and she felt like she needed to find out more. She left her appointment choosing life!!

WHERE DO THE 2024 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES STAND ON ABORTION? TAKE A LOOK: (AP News): "More than a year after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the federal right to abortion, the issue has at times dominated the discussion among the Republicans seeking their party’s 2024 presidential nomination and is sure to be on display during the first GOP campaign debate Wednesday in Milwaukee. Some of the division among the candidates has come over whether there should be a national ban on the practice — and after how many weeks — now that the justices have returned specific debate over abortion legality to the states." GOP NOT SHYING AWAY FROM ABORTION: (U.S. News & World Report) – "Since the Supreme Court reversed the right to an abortion, it’s been a winning issue at the polls for Democrats. But that’s not stopping Republicans from talking about it. Republican presidential candidates have been one-upping each other on abortion limits and bans, with participants in this week's GOP primary debate vowing to sign a federal ban on the procedure." PRO-LIFE GROUP BASHES DOUG BURGUM: YOU CAN’T KILL BABIES IN SOME STATES, PROTECT THEM IN OTHERS: (LifeNews.com) – "Republican presidential candidate Doug Burgum confirmed his position against federal laws protecting babies from abortions during last night’s presidential debate. And it earned him the scorn of one prominent pro-life group. Burgum has opposed any federal law prohibiting abortions – taking a full states rights approach even though the Dobbs decision confirmed abortion is a legislative issue. ‘What is going to work in New York will never work in North Dakota and vice versa,’ Burgum said. […] ‘Tonight’s Republican presidential debate made it clear who is and is not prepared to be a National Defender of Life,’ SBA President Marjorie Dannenfelser said. ‘Some were bold in sharing the plight of the unborn in half the country where brutal late-term abortions continue at any point in pregnancy for any reason. The position taken by candidates like Doug Burgum, that life is solely a matter for the states, is unacceptable for a nation founded on unalienable rights and for a presidential contender,’ Dannenfelser said." BIRTH RATES IN ENGLAND AND WALES PLUMMET AS ABORTIONS RISE: (Live Action) – "Data recently released from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has revealed that the birth rate in both England and Wales has plummeted. This follows last month’s news that shows abortions in the two countries have been on the rise. Though the birth rate has been steadily decreasing, the 2022 numbers are the lowest they’ve been in 20 years. England and Wales recorded 605,479 births in 2022, a 3.1% drop from 624,828 in 2021 and the lowest number since 2002 when there were 596,122 births.
