ACTION ALERT:
STATE SENATE TO VOTE TOMORROW ON EMBRACE THEM BOTH BILLS

The Wisconsin Senate has scheduled floor votes on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, for three of four pro-life bills entitled
Embrace Them Both. Pro-Life Wisconsin is proud to advocate for these bills that, together, clarify and strengthen our current law abortion ban and provide the necessary resources for both moms and babies to survive and thrive in a post-Roe Wisconsin.

Authored by Sen. Romaine Quinn (R-Cameron), Senate Bill(s) 343, 345, and 346 received a public hearing in the Senate Committee on Licensing, Constitution and Federalism on September 19, 2023. The Committee then recommended the bills for passage on October 9, 2023. The bills do the following:

Senate Bill 343 clarifies that medical procedures intended to save the life of a pregnant mother, and not intended to kill her preborn baby, are not abortions. Such procedures include medical emergency early induction or C-section, removal of a miscarriage, or removal of an ectopic, molar, or anembryonic pregnancy. Abortion, statutorily defined as the intentional killing of a preborn living human being, is never medically necessary to save the life or improve the health of the mother.

Senate Bill 345 requires the Department of Health Services to award an ongoing $1 million annual grant to Choose Life Wisconsin, Inc. to assist the non-profit
organization in providing grants to pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) across Wisconsin. Since 2017, “Choose Life” specialty license plates have been available to Wisconsin motorists. With over 2,375 of these plates on cars in Wisconsin, sales have resulted in over $275,000 being granted to over twenty-five Wisconsin PRCs in five years.

Senate Bill 346 requires the Department of Children and Families to administer a competitive grant program that provides $5 million biennially to an adoption organization that provides financial assistance to parents seeking adoptions. With the average cost of a private adoption exceeding $40,000, we must do more, publicly and privately, to make adoption affordable for families. Assisting prospective adoptive parents with a $10,000 award will help many on the financial fence move forward with this loving gift.

(The fourth bill of the Embrace Them Both legislative package, Senate Bill 344, is not ready for Senate floor action. We expect Senate Bill 344 to be voted on by the full Senate in November. This bill increases the current state income tax exemption for dependents from $700 to $1,000 and extends the coverage to preborn children whose fetal heartbeat has been detected.)

Act Now!
Embrace Them Both provides real solutions for Wisconsin women and families. Pro-Life Wisconsin is urging the Wisconsin Senate to pass the Embrace Them Both bill package as we work to build a culture of life and true prosperity in Wisconsin. Please CALL or EMAIL your state senator TODAY and urge him/her to “Vote YES on SB 343, SB 345, and SB 346.”

Tell him/her that:
Abortion, the intentional killing of a preborn baby, is never medically necessary to save the life or improve the health of the mother.”
“Help pregnant mothers in need by funding adoption and pregnancy resource  centers.”

Don’t know your State Senator? Go to legis.wisconsin.gov and type in your home address under “Who Are My Legislators” or call the Legislative Hotline: 1-800-362-9472. Thank you for making your pro-life voice heard!

YOUR MERE PRESENCE
So far during the 40 Days for Life campaign in Wisconsin there have been
SIX babies saved from abortion!  Thank You, Jesus! No matter what happens in Washington, D.C., or Madison, Wisconsin, know that your mere presence at these killing centers makes a huge difference. No-show rates skyrocket to as high as 75% at Planned Parenthood, even with just ONE prayer warrior on the sidewalks!

Will the next baby be saved because you took an hour out of your busy day to go pray at these awful, depraved places?  When you go home to our Lord in your particular judgment, you need to be able to say, “Lord, Lord!  I was there at the foot of the cross for the least of our brothers and sisters as they were dragged to their slaughter!  I prayed that their mothers' hearts were softened enough to choose life for their precious baby!” Will that be your answer?
Sign up today to witness and pray to end abortion!

40 Clergy, 40 Days
In past years, the presence of clergy has proven a very powerful witness and has influenced many women to choose life outside of abortion facilities! Our goal is to have one priest, deacon, or religious praying every day of the remaining campaign for one hour. Sign up online here or using the button below. If you are a clergy member and would like to commit to one hour of prayer outside these facilities, email our Outreach Director Lesley Chisholm at

ILLEGAL ABORTIONS - YOU CAN HELP STOP THE KILLING OF THE INNOCENTS

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin announced on September 18, 2023, they would resume killing babies in Milwaukee and Madison, essentially because they think they can get away with it.  Know that Pro-Life Wisconsin is doing everything within our power to hold Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin accountable to the law.

Dan Miller, our State Director, recently took the proactive step of filing numerous complaints to the Medical Examining Board against Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, their medical director, Dr. Kathy King, and a few other known abortionists in the state that have killed for them before. Any concerned citizen can file a complaint against Planned Parenthood because they are violating our state statute, 940.04, which has been in force since the Dobbs U.S. Supreme Court ruling on June 24, 2022. The Medical Examining Board has the power to revoke a doctor’s license to practice medicine in the state of Wisconsin. An M.D. cannot knowingly break the law while practicing medicine in the state of Wisconsin.

File a complaint with the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board and tell them "Planned Parenthood is breaking the law by performing abortions in violation of Wisconsin's abortion ban, state statute 940.04." File your complaint here.

PRO-LIFE NEWS

DENMARK REJECTS LEGALIZING EUTHANASIA AND ASSISTED SUICIDE: (LifeNews.com, by Wesley J. Smith, J.D.) – “We have sufficient experience with assisted suicide/euthanasia to understand where it leads - an ever-expanding regime of medicalized killing and acceptance of the dangerous concept of the life not worth living - all under the guise of so-called ‘death with dignity’ (as if dying naturally isn’t dignified). Still, euthanasia activists keep telling us that their agenda is unstoppable. Sometimes, it seems that way, I admit. And it depresses the hell out of me. But then, sometimes light penetrates the growing darkness. Such an event just occurred. The Danish Council of Ethics has rejected legalization of euthanasia and assisted suicide by a 16–1 vote.” Read the full op-ed here.

CIRCUMSTANCES OF CONCEPTION SHOULDN’T DETERMINE WHETHER SOMEONE LIVES OR DIES: (Live Action, by Nancy Flanders) – “During the Democratic National Committee’s meeting on October 6, Vice President Kamala Harris said that pro-life laws — specifically those protecting preborn children who are conceived in rape or incest — are ‘immoral.’ Unfortunately, much of America agrees with her. […] Being pro-life except for babies conceived in rape or incest indicates that the person holding that belief doesn’t truly think babies in the womb are living beings worthy of life regardless of the circumstance. Like rape, abortion is an act of violence done to a person’s body, in this case the preborn child’s body, and it is not the solution for rape, nor does it bring healing to the survivor.” Read the full op-ed here.

OVER 100 BLACK PASTORS SIGN LETTER OPPOSING OHIO ABORTION AMENDMENT: ‘LIFE-OR-DEATH MATTER’: (LifeSiteNews) –A bipartisan group of over 100 Black pastors in Ohio released a letter on Tuesday urging state voters to reject a radical amendment that would enshrine a ‘right’ to effectively unlimited abortion. The faith leaders warned that the amendment, which would allow abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, is an existential threat to the Black community. The amendment will appear on the state’s November 7, 2023, ballot as Ohio Issue 1, when voters will decide whether it should be adopted and override all present and future abortion laws from the Ohio legislature. The group of pastors called on not only Blacks but ‘all Ohioans who believe in the inherent value of every person to vote NO on Issue 1 this November.’ ‘The future of our state, our society, and our race is at stake in this amendment, and we must protect them,’ wrote the pastors, going on to highlight the disproportionate harm the measure would have on the Black community.’ The leaders emphasized that Issue 1 is not a ‘Republican or Democrat issue,’ but a ‘moral issue and for the Black community in particular, it is a life-or-death matter.’” Read the full story here.
