SAVING BABIES 101

Many have asked me over the years what’s the “secret sauce” to saving babies at abortion centers. My number one answer is almost always, “showing up.” It is possible to save babies online, over the phone, text messaging, video conference, but in my opinion, nothing surpasses the personal interaction of a one-on-one conversation with an abortion-oriented mom at an abortion center. Of course, we know the mom is serious about the abortion because SHE is there. Conversely, she knows we are serious about saving her baby because WE are there. Our presence speaks VOLUMES.

Here's a real story about a baby saved in January at Planned Parenthood in Milwaukee.

My friend *Dean gave me a tip that a friend of his, *Betty, has a granddaughter, *Nora, who had scheduled an abortion with Planned Parenthood in Milwaukee on Tuesday. In the message he received, Betty asked, “Where does Dan Miller sidewalk counsel on Tuesdays?” She wanted me there.

Betty booked a flight from Tennessee and would arrive in MKE that Tuesday morning, the day of the abortion appointment. Her son, *Adam (Nora’s dad) picked up Betty at the airport and we all met on the sidewalks about 20 minutes before the abortion appointment.  When Nora and her boyfriend, *David, showed up, Betty and Adam met them in the parking lot, got into one car, and talked for a while. After that, Betty and Adam joined us on the sidewalks. We all prayed together, and I encouraged them as much as I could. When the time came for the abortion appointment, Nora and David headed inside Planned Parenthood.

Devote one hour on one day of the 40 day campaign, that’s all it takes!
When clergy and religious are present on the sidewalks, lives are saved.

In past years, the presence of clergy has proven a very powerful witness and has influenced many women to choose life outside of abortion facilities! Our goal is to have one priest, deacon, or religious leader praying every day of the campaign for one hour. Sign up online here or using the button below. If you are a clergy member or religious leader and would like a member of our staff to join you in prayer outside these facilities, contact Outreach Director Lesley Chisholm at  Lesley.C@ProLifeWI.org or 262.796.1111 ext. 116.

YEARS AFTER ADOPTION, A DISTINCTIVE BIRTHMARK HELPS BIRTH MOTHER RECOGNIZE SON CONCEIVED IN RAPE: (Live Action) – “Roger Meir sports a large, red birthmark on his right arm. While the discolored patch of skin might be an embarrassment for another person, for Meir, it played a significant role in enabling his teenaged biological mother, Ruth, to recognize him when the two were reunited 47 years after his birth. […] Ruth was just 15 years old when one day as she was walking home from school, she was raped in an alley by three men, resulting in a pregnancy. It was 1949, and the stigma of being unmarried and pregnant would be unbearable. Ruth was taken to The Friends Rescue Home in Columbus, Ohio, where Meir was born. Afterward, Ruth’s mother told her to never speak of her traumatic experience, so she remained silent. But she never relinquished hope that she would someday see her child again. […] I knew something had happened where she was unable to raise me,’ Meir said. ‘I felt bad for what she went through. But she wanted me to know that although I had been conceived during a violent act, that to her, I was her precious baby. She told me that when she looked at me, she saw not tragedy, but only love.’ He was touched to learn Ruth had never stopped searching for him. She would go into a grocery store and look around, hoping to see a man whose arm God had branded with the familiar mark. Read the full story here.

PRO-LIFERS FOUND GUILTY IN NASHVILLE FACE ACT TRIAL: (Live Action) – “After a six-day federal trial held in Nashville, Tennessee, six pro-life defendants were individually found guilty today of one count each of violating the FACE Act and one count of ‘conspiracy against rights.’ Combined, these charges mean that the defendants — Chet Gallagher, Heather Idoni, Cal Zastrow, Coleman Boyd, Paul Vaughn, and Dennis Green — could each spend up to 11 years in prison. Sentencing is set to be held on July 2. According to a press release from TC Public Relations, ‘Immediately following the guilty verdict, the pro-life defendants, along with family and friends, gathered in front of the courthouse to pray and sing hymns together.’ The release also noted that Thomas More attorneys, who represented defendant Paul Vaughn (referred to as a ‘Christian father of eleven’), are expected to appeal the ruling to a higher court. Vaughn’s attorney, Thomas More Senior Counsel Steve Crampton, characterized the pro-life action in March 2021 at the Carafem abortion facility in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, as a ‘peaceful demonstration’ consisting of ‘prayer, hymn-singing, and worship.’ He added that the Biden Administration’s ‘disturbing’ attacks against peaceful pro-lifers in recent years are meant to ‘intimidate and punish’ pro-lifers like Vaughn and his fellow defendants.” Read the full story here.

FRENCH LEGISLATORS OVERWHELMINGLY VOTE TO ENSHRINE ‘FREEDOM’ OF ABORTION IN CONSTITUTION: (LifeSiteNews) – “An overwhelming majority of members of the French National Assembly on Tuesday approved a government-proposed revision of the Constitution enshrining the ‘freedom’ of women to have an abortion: 493 members voted in favor, while only 30 voted against, and 23 abstained. The majority of the right-wing ‘Rassemblement national’ group – 46 out of a total of 88 members, including their leader Marine Le Pen – voted for the inscription of this ‘freedom’ as one of France’s fundamental laws. The idea of ‘sacralizing’ abortion was born in the mind of President Emmanuel Macron as a retort to the reversal of Roe v. Wade in the U.S., and the constitutional law has been fast-tracked by the government in order to obtain its solemn adoption on or around March 8, International Women’s Day. For that to happen, the text will need to be approved in identical terms by the French Senate by the end of February.” Read the full story here.
