ACTION ALERT
HEAL WITHOUT HARM COALITION URGES WISCONSIN SENATE TO OPPOSE AB 975

The Heal Without Harm Coalition encourages all citizens to contact their state senators NOW and urge them to OPPOSE Assembly Bill (AB) 975, legislation permitting abortion up to 14-weeks gestation and placing the measure on the April 2024 spring ballot in a legally binding referendum. The state legislative session is rapidly coming to a close and it is critical that AB 975 be defeated in the Wisconsin Senate!

On January 25, 2024, the Wisconsin Assembly passed Assembly Bill (AB) 975. In so doing, the Assembly abandoned its defense of our current abortion law, Wisconsin Statute 940.04, which bans abortion from conception. Even worse, the Assembly included exceptions for rape and incest in AB 975 which is not only a gross denial of equal protection under the law but effectively permits abortion up to birth since no police report or other substantiation of the alleged sexual assault is required.

The Heal Without Harm (HWH) Coalition, comprised of Pro-Life Wisconsin, Wisconsin Right to Life, Wisconsin Family Action, and the Wisconsin Catholic Conference, opposes the introduction of an abortion referendum during a time when the current state abortion ban continues to proceed through the state court system. The Coalition will continue to defend s.940.04, a lifesaving law which has saved over 1,500 lives since the overturning of Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022. We are urging the Wisconsin Senate to wait until the state court challenges are resolved before proposing any new abortion limits.

Contact Your State Senator TODAY!

With your help, the HWH Coalition will work to defeat AB 975. We are urging all state senators to oppose AB 975. Importantly, close to 90 percent of abortions in Wisconsin occur before 14 weeks gestation. Please CALL or EMAIL your State Senator TODAY and urge him/her to “Oppose AB 975.”

Tell them to “protect preborn children from conception by defending our current state abortion ban, Wisconsin Statute 940.04. In less than two years, over 1,500 lives have been saved in Wisconsin thanks to 940.04.”

Tell them “the rape and incest exceptions in AB 975 protect sexual predators, put additional pressure on women to abort, and send the strong signal that those among us conceived in rape and incest are not as worthy of life as everyone else.”

Don’t know your State Senator? Visit legis.wisconsin.gov and type in your home address under “Who Are My Legislators” or call the Legislative Hotline: 1-800-362-947.

God bless you, and please continue making your pro-life voices heard in the Wisconsin Senate!

The lawsuit alleges that the two pro-life organizations are ‘misleading patients’ by offering them information about the administration of progesterone to attempt to counter the effects of the abortion pill mifepristone. This treatment is most commonly referred to as ‘abortion pill reversal (APR).
