WISCONSIN'S FALL PRIMARY ELECTION
TOMORROW, AUGUST 11
Please remember to vote in tomorrow’s fall primary election, Tuesday, August 11. Let your pro-life voice be heard! Please keep the following in mind as you vote:
  • The Wisconsin fall primary is a “closed” primary, meaning you can only vote for candidates in ONE party.
  • Near the top of your ballot, you will see the option to select a party. This selection ensures that your votes will only count in the party chosen.
  • Choosing a party serves as a safeguard in case you accidentally select a candidate in another party.
  • If you choose to not select a party at the top of the ballot, and then cast votes for candidates in more than one party, your entire ballot will be invalidated.

Selecting a party in the primary election does not limit you in the general election in November. Please check in with voting officials at your polling place or the Wisconsin Elections Commission if you have questions.

CANDIDATE ENDORSEMENTS
The Pro-Life Wisconsin Victory Fund political action committee (PAC) has announced candidate endorsements for the Fall 2020 elections. View endorsements here. A total of thirty-five candidates have been endorsed by the Victory Fund PAC for state office.

"We proudly endorse these candidates who recognize the personhood of the preborn baby and hold the principled and compassionate no-exceptions pro-life position," said Matt Sande, director of the Victory Fund PAC.  "For over twenty-five years, Pro-Life Wisconsin has held high the banner of total protection for all preborn children. Because we insist on this high standard, more and more candidates for elected office are 100% pro-life. We stand behind those candidates who stand behind 100% of the babies."

PRO-LIFE FAITHFUL GATHER FOR EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION OUTSIDE ABORTION FACILITY

Over 60 pro-life faithful gathered on the streets outside of St. Hedwig on the East Side of Milwaukee for the annual 40 Days for Life Eucharistic Procession. Neither hot weather, hecklers, nor the wind could deter the efforts to bring Jesus to the sidewalks. Dan Miller, State Director of Pro-Life Wisconsin welcomed everyone
on the steps of the church and Father Tim Kitzke, pastor of Three Holy Women, gave an opening blessing. Faithful from parishes all over the city joined in the procession and Knights of Columbus members carried the canopy. Emeritus State Director Peggy Hamill and her husband Bob were among those who joined in the Scriptural Rosary, led by Dan Miller. Father John Baumgardner, associate pastor of Three Holy Women, carried the Blessed Sacrament to the sidewalks outside the abortion facility (AMS), and Deacon Jim Matthias did so on the return to St. Hedwig. Father Baumgardner gave a heartfelt reflection outside of AMS and encouraged all participants to pray for an end to abortion and especially, “to pause and think of the abortion workers many of them you know, picture them, and pray three Hail Mary’s for the conversion of their hearts.”

Milwaukee 40 Days for Life leader, September remarked, “bringing Jesus to the brokenness of the abortion clinic is such a blessing! The devil tried to thwart it in many ways. Jesus triumphed! Amen!” 40 Days for Life Fall campaign begins September 23 and ends November 1, 2020. With seven locations throughout Wisconsin, peacefully praying on the sidewalks during the campaign will be easily accessible

CONSECRATE WISCONSIN

The culture of death has made devastating inroads in our country over the last 50 years, and the lives of pre-born children hang in the balance, as does our own culture. We hope to petition Our Lord through His Blessed Mother for supernatural graces to help us defeat the culture of death and all abortion, euthanasia, and other evils that come with it.

We recognize this effort as not only good for the people of our state in general but also for our pre-born children specifically.

Please sign the petition in support of asking our Wisconsin Catholic Bishops to Consecrate Wisconsin to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Please forward this email or website address to everyone you know. Encourage them to sign it also!

Please contact ConsecrateWI@gmail.com if your organization or business would like to endorse this effort.

DID YOU KNOW...

On March 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was signed into law. The CARES Act increases tax deductions for charitable donations for both individuals and corporations for tax year 2020. You may wish to consider the following provisions when determining your charitable giving this year:

Individuals who do not itemize their tax deductions may take a new "above the line" charitable deduction of $300 per taxpayer ($600 for a married couple). An "above the line" deduction reduces a donor's adjusted gross income and thereby reduces taxable income.

Individuals who do itemize may deduct donations up to 100% of their 2020 AGI, up from the previous limit of 60%.

Corporations may deduct up to 25% of taxable income, up from the previous limit of 10%.

To qualify for these special deductions, contributions must be made during tax year 2020. Payments on outstanding pledges also qualify, provided the payment is made in 2020.

The program, which involves non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), offers screening for genetic abnormalities early in pregnancy using a blood sample from the mother rather than the more risky amniocentesis…Right to Life UK and other pro-life and Down syndrome advocacy organizations are warning that the increased testing will likely result in a large increase in the number of abortions for preborn babies with Down syndrome.” Read the full story here.
