PRO-LIFE WISCONSIN'S WAUSAU
AFFILIATE MAKING A STATEMENT

About a week ago, our Wausau Affiliate contacted Pro-Life Wisconsin asking if we had any posters specifically targeting the evil of using aborted babies in the development of vaccines. We took this request as an opportunity to design, print, and deliver nearly 100 signs to Wausau. When the March for Life Education and Defense Fund chose to cancel their annual March for Life D.C., the Wausau group knew it was more important than ever to show their commitment to the cause of life, so they held a "Rosary and Pro-Life Chain" this past Sunday, January 31, 2021.

A large group gathered outside of Saint Mary's Oratory Sunday morning following Mass at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Canon Aaron Huberfeld's sermon, "Pro-Life Sunday: Overcome Evil with Good" can be heard here. Participants held a variety of Pro-Life Wisconsin signs, among them were "No Vaccines from Aborted Babies" and "Stop Using Aborted Babies for Vaccines."

Thank you to all those who sacrificed their time to be present in prayer on Sunday morning. Your bold message of defending life was heard by many in the Wasau community and beyond!
PRO-LIFE WISCONSINSITES
MARCH FOR LIFE IN MILWAUKEE

This past Saturday, about 80 stalwart pro-life souls ventured out with us on our pilgrimage to Bayview, Wisconsin and back.  We started from the corner of 5th and Mitchell in Milwaukee, so about a 3.6 mile trek round trip – a very similar distance as the national March for Life, which goes from the Washington Monument to the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court.  It took about two hours to march there and back, so everyone could surely check off the box to get their exercise that day!

Local pro-life leaders stepped up to the bullhorn one after the other. Father John Baumgardner, Associate Pastor at Three Holy Women Catholic Parish, led us in prayer and offered a blessing for our safety as we marched on to Bayview.  September, Milwaukee coordinator for 40 Days for Life and sidewalk counselor, gave a brief reflection on how abortion harms women, men, and society – but to me, it sounded more like a prayer, so even better!  Last to speak was State Representative Cody Horlacher, who spoke to us about his pro-life journey and how Matt Sande, myself, and Pro-Life Wisconsin helped him get to and embrace the 100% no exceptions position on abortion – not just personally, but in his legislative work as well!  Praise God!

When we arrived in downtown Bayview, you could tell right away we were not a welcome addition to their morning.  As we passed the drinking establishments, the patrons stood in the window giving us the middle finger.  The sidewalks were not shoveled very well, so if any pedestrians had to walk past us, you could see the disdain for our message in their eye rolls, shaking their head (no) and the hyper-dramatic pulling up of their face mask.  It was a very windy day, so our prayers traveled extra well as we bull-horned through downtown Bayview!  One young man came out of the public library and shouted at us, “Why don’t you guys mind your own business?”  For me, this summed up the reason we must march.  IT IS OUR BUSINESS!  If you were a witness to a murder but did nothing to stop it, YOU would be charged in that murder as well!  If I had a dollar for every time someone yelled out their windows as they drove past us at the abortion centers, “Get a job!” – “Mind your own business!” – “My body my choice!” – “FILL IN THE BLANK” – I’d be a very rich man, indeed.

When our preborn brothers and sisters in Christ are being slaughtered by the thousands in Wisconsin, their safety must be our “business!”  We cannot look the other way.  We must end abortion now!

U.S. BISHOPS DENOUNCE BIDEN FOR RESCINDING MEXICO CITY POLICY: ‘Violates human dignity’: (LifeSiteNews) – “Following President Joe Biden’s presidential memorandum yesterday revoking the ban on federal money going to NGOs that provide or promote abortion overseas, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) released a statement decrying the move as ‘grievous.’ […] ‘This Executive Order is antithetical to reason, violates human dignity, and is incompatible with Catholic teaching,’ the bishops stated, before urging Biden to ‘use his office for good, prioritizing the most vulnerable, including unborn children.’” Read the full story here.

OUTRAGE: POLISH CITIZEN DIES AFTER BEING SLOWLY STARVED TO DEATH BY UK HOSPITAL: (Live Action News) – “’RS,’ the Polish Catholic patient in the center of a United Kingdom court battle to save his life, has died, despite efforts to bring him back to Poland to receive treatment. […] A statement from Christian Concern, a United Kingdom-based non-profit organization, said RS had been without nutrition or hydration since January 13th. ‘I am devastated that the British authorities have decided to dehydrate my son to death,’ RS’s mother said in the statement. ‘What the British authorities have done to my son is euthanasia by the back door. Depriving him of nutrition and hydration is functionally the same as giving him an injection to end his life, except that the entire process is longer, degrading and inhumane treatment.’” Read the full story here.

U.S. BISHOP SAYS HE’S PRAYING FOR BIDEN’S CONVERSION ON ABORTION: (LifeSiteNews) – “Bishop Donald Hying of the Diocese of Madison, Wisconsin, said that he is praying for ‘a deep conversion’ of pro-abortion President Joe Biden.” Read the full story here.
